Who we Are
The Havasu Art Guild is a non-profit
organization with over 150 members. Our members consist of
people of all ages interested in promoting and participating
in creative visual arts and crafts.
We are here to:
- Provide an
opportunity for artists and artisans to display their artwork
for awards and profit
- Aid in the Development of
skills and artistic abilities of our young people and community
members interested in visual arts by providing workshops, seminars
and allied activities.
- Award
Scholarships to
our high school and college students
- Offer You the
opportunity to participate by becoming a member-regardless
of your skill levels or area of artistic interest
History
The concept of the Havasu Arts
and Crafts Association was started in Lake Havasu City, Arizona
in 1971 with Jan Harmon as the president.
The Havasu Art Guild, as it is today
was formed in 1978. The steering committee was Joan Barry, Barry
Gray and Elenor Smith as the first Art Guild president. The objective
of the Guild was to encourage individual and Community interest
in the creative arts and crafts, and the development of the members
natural abilities in all areas of artistic endeavors.

Galleries
The Aquatic Center opened
November 1994. The artwork is exhibited in the display cases
in the Hall. The artwork is changed every four months.
The Mohave
County Library opened its doors at the K-Mart
Plaza in Lake Havasu City in 1999 and has space dedicated
for artwork. Both members and non-members are allowed to
put up artwork. For more information you can contact

Mohave County Library.We also have a Gallery right
here on the Art Guild web site. Members are welcome to contribute
artwork to the Gallery and have links to their own personal websites.
In order to display work at the
Aquatic Center or Web site Gallery, you must be a member of the
Havasu Art Guild. For more information on gallery dates, you
can e-mail
us.
Membership
Membership with the Guild entitles
the member to place artwork in galleries and attend Art Guild
sponsored workshops and demonstrations by accomplished arts
and crafts instructors. The membership includes placing work
in the web site gallery if desired and having a link to your
own page.Meetings are held on the third Monday
of each month at 7p.m. except during June, July and August.Members who enter Art Guild sponsored
shows receive a discount for their entry fee.Yearly membership is $40 single
$50 family. Any person interested in the objectives of
the Havasu Art Guild shall be eligible for membership by completing
a Membership
Application and
sending it in with the required dues. Please e-mail

Spring Show 2008, March 14, 15, 16

The Spring Show is
our largest competitive show. The first Spring Show for the
Art Guild was in 1979.
The Annual Spring Shows are held
at the Aquatic Center and start off with an invitation only preview
and are open to the public during the weekend. The Spring Show
is a juried art show for members as well as non-members. Winners
receive placement ribbons.
